Why All The Measles Outbreaks…

CNN Article: U.S. measles cases in 2013 may be most in 17 years

So apparently “this year is on track to be the worst for measles in more than a decade…..and
….wait for it…..wait for it….yep, of course….. AND
“people who refuse to vaccinate their children are behind the increasing number of outbreaks, health officials say”

Of course! It is ALWAYS the unvaccinated. And the answer is always MORE vaccines.

This is Part II response to the CNN article: Why All The Measles Outbreaks?
You can read Part I: THE MYTH OF HERD IMMUNITY

*I know this post is long, but please take the time to read all the way through. I have an important message at the end.

WHY THE OUTBREAKS

Scientists believe that measles can be eradicated by vaccinating 80% -100% of the population. Theoretically, such “herd” immunity will interrupt measles transmission and end epidemics.

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that “immunization coverage of 2 year olds of 80% may be sufficient to prevent sustained measles outbreaks in urban communities”. This is what is referred to as “herd immunity”.

Ok, so are you following? We need about 80% of people (children) to be vaccinated to achieve herd immunity and prevent outbreaks.

Just yesterday (published September 12, 2013) The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said childhood immunization levels are near or above national targets.

Let me repeat: CHILDHOOD immunization levels are near or ABOVE National targets.

I went to the CDC website where you can look up vaccine coverage in your area. The latest statistics were just published (as of September 2013). My state has a 90% overall vaccine coverage for children. That means 90% of the population where I live is vaccinated. Wa-la! (or voila for the people who like to correct me) :). Herd immunity has been achieved. Right? Or wrong?

Baby-and-Herd-Immunity-300x199

We know herd immunity is a myth, but let’s just keep pretending herd immunity is real….

Some estimate that only 2% of the population does not vaccinate their children. Are we really trying to blame outbreaks on the “people who refuse to vaccinate their children”? Who seriously believes this?

“It is preposterous to think that a child who is vaccinated no longer carries the bacteria or the viruses that they have been vaccinated against. If, in fact, children are vaccinated, then why are parents and public health authorities afraid that non-vaccinated children are somehow carrying something that their children are not, when they should feel comfortable that their children are vaccinated? You can’t have it both ways…

You can’t vaccinate believing that your children are protected and then feel that your children are not protected because somehow, some non-vaccinated child is carrying some secret organism that no-one else is carrying. You can’t have it both ways. It just doesn’t make any sense”. -–Dr. Palevsky, board certified pediatrician

vaccineworked
The CNN article has too many holes in it: “Among those who have been stricken with measles this year, 92% were not vaccinated or had unknown vaccination status”

Hmmmmm…..OR we could also say “Among those who had been stricken with measles this year, 92% may have been vaccinated or maybe not, we don’t know”.

What kind of research is that?

Back to the Herd

herd_immunity

What’s funny is that the “herd” really has not been immune for 40 years.

Dr. Blaylock (world renown neurosurgeon) explains this perfectly…

“When I was in medical school, we were taught that all of the childhood vaccines lasted a lifetime. This thinking existed for over 70 years. It was not until relatively recently that it was discovered that most of these vaccines lost their effectiveness 2 to 10 years after being given.

What this means is that at least half the population, that is the baby boomers, have had no vaccine-induced immunity against any of these diseases for which they had been vaccinated very early in life. At least 50 percent of the population has been unprotected for decades.

If we listen to present-day wisdom, we are all at risk of resurgent massive epidemics should the vaccination rate fall below 95 percent. Yet we have all lived for at least 30 to 40 years with 50 percent or less of the population having vaccine protection.

Herd immunity has not existed in this country for many decades, and no resurgent epidemics have occurred. Vaccine-induced herd immunity is a lie used to frighten doctors, public-health officials, other medical personnel, and the public into accepting vaccinations”.

But who cares right? Let’s just continue to blame outbreaks on the “people who refuse to vaccinate their children”. My question is who is behind this nonsense? And what is their motivation in blaming everything on “parents who don’t vaccinate”? It would make more sense to blame outbreaks on the adult population (who never contracted measles naturally) but received a measles vaccine as a child. Ask them when the last time they received a measles vaccine? Seriously….the herd of adults in NOT immune!

So we preach herd immunity. Our target levels for children are on track. Adults are not. We tried an adult schedule and no-one really complies. So we blame the teeny tiny percent of unvaccinated children.

Questions and Answers signpost

The CNN article says that according to the CDC, “one to three out of every 1,000 children in the United States who get measles will die from the disease, even with the best of care”. Hmmmm….The studies I read show these statistics to be true of children who live in conditions of malnutrition and poverty. Not in America.  I’ve share before how:

“Data shows that one-third to one-half of the millions of deaths in children across the world, caused by measles, diarrheal diseases, pneumonia, AIDS, & malaria, are due to undernutrition, not undervaccination”

I went through the last few years of measles “outbreaks”, and there hasn’t been a measles death since 2003, despite years and years of “outbreaks” being caused by the unvaccinated. Which by the way, do you notice that we are always having the “worst outbreak in years”, every year? In 2008, we had an outbreak in San Diego…this is how they worded it….”In the end, 839 people were exposed to measles. Eleven were infected.” 11. But in 2008, if you remember the headlines, it was the worst measles outbreak. Ever.

The article published last year (2012) from USA Today read “CDC: 2011 was worst measles year in U.S. in 15 years” But now today, CNN runs an article titled “U.S. measles cases in 2013 may be most in 17 years”. Well if 2011 was the worst in 15 years, how is 2013 going to be the worst in 17 years? We haven’t surpassed the amount of cases in 2011 yet. And we are nowhere close to surpassing the amount of cases from 1996. And guess what? Yep, the 2011 worst year was caused by the unvaccinated kids too. Haha! And the 2008 outbreak. And every outbreak, right? Nope. Outbreaks have occurred in populations where 99% was vaccinated.

Read this article, titled “Measles Outbreaks Centered in the Vaccinated: Studies Show Vaccine Is Ineffective”

The CNN article gives no sources or references. People demand that my blog give sources and references, but we don’t demand the same from media reporting. People just read an article like the CNN one, and they are sold on the underlying message: BLAME THE UNVACCINATED.

So is the herd immune or not? How do we keep blaming the small percentage of unvaccinated children on “outbreaks” when the majority of children are vaccinated. It’s a joke. I think we should blame the outbreaks on people who haven’t had a measles vaccine since they were children. Those no-good-non-immune-measles-spreading-x-generation-and-baby-boomers.

Speaking of jokes. I found this awesome picture on the CDC website today. It was published on August 24, 2013 so I’m not showing an outdated picture from the CDC website.

measles cdc website

THIS. These numbers are what we are making a big deal about? This picture is what CNN is basing it’s breaking news story on. Are we serious?

THE TRUE OUTBREAK

1 in 50 kids are suffering from the largest epidemic in the history of the world. It’s called AUTISM.

My friend LJ Goes, co-founder of The Thinking Moms Revolution, contributing editor for Age of Autism, and Managing Partner of The Misuta Project, LLC. She describes her sons AUTISM like this.

Mine has AUTISMM:
Auto-immune dysfunction
Undiagnosed PANDAS (finally caught by his 6th physician)
Titres that indicate no antibody production for Polio (for which he is fully vaxxed) and “off the charts” production of varicella and measles.
Inflammation of the brain and bowels.
Sensory processing disorder brought on by
Metabolic and
Methylation failure

Many of these children with autism have the live measles from the vaccine, destroying their gut and bowels. Aka, AUTISM.

Not only that, but the measles vaccine caused their child’s encephalitis. You know the encephalitis that we tell parents their child is going to die from if they contract measles? Yeah, that same encephalitis is listed on the MMR vaccine package insert as a adverse reaction to the vaccine.

LJ’s husband Dave wrote their son Noah a letter this morning. It read like this:

To my dearest son, Noah:

Six years ago today, you received your MMR vaccine. That weekend, you developed a 104 degree fever, were treated with acetaminophen (which the medical establishment now admits can hurt more than help), developed chronic encephalopathy, and regressed into autism.

This is what daddy should have read before this medical procedure. This is directly from Merck’s MMR II document:

Contraindication (i.e. do not give this to): “Individuals with a family history of congenital or hereditary immunodeficiency, until the immune competence of the potential vaccine recipient is demonstrated.” = YOU.

Adverse Reactions: “Encephalitis; encephalopathy; measles inclusion body encephalitis (MIBE) (see CONTRAINDICATIONS); subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE); Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS); febrile convulsions; afebrile convulsions or seizures; ataxia; polyneuritis; polyneuropathy; ocular palsies; paresthesia.”

You’re too young to have to hear this but this is when mom and I realized that large special interests (i’ll explain later), in collusion with governments, can and do lie, especially when too much is on the line.

Your mommy and I have said it before and will say it again: Us parents have absolutely nothing to gain in this “debate”. We are shunned by the community. We lose friendships. We lose family. We spend our life savings trying to heal our children. We are made to look like idiots by the media. What do we have to gain?! NOTHING.

What does the medical establishment potentially have to deal with if they have to come clean? What would be the result if they had to tell the American people not only that this was happening all along, but that they covered it up. In other words, what would they have to lose? EVERYTHING.

My heart breaks for you every day. Not only did you not have a choice in the matter. I helped do this to you. Your mommy and I are fighting like hell (awww, daddy swore!) to recover your body from the scourge of autism (yes, a scourge – not neurodiversity) that racks your body and mind every day. I’m sorry Noah. I vow that I will research everything and trust nothing, ever again, until I can look at myself and say, “yes, I have done my research and this is what we are going to do.”

We have come a long way, buddy, and you are doing so great! But we have a long way to go. Stay strong my little warrior. Daddy loves you.

Love,
Your Father.

I was given permission to share this story. Because this story above. This is what all of this is about. This is why I care and why I write this blog. Because this is a real family. And that lame graphic of our country above. Good ole America. Showing a few states here and there with a handful of measles cases. A relatively mild illness that mimics a common cold. That picture given to us courtesy of the CDC. It is a JOKE. The CNN article is a joke.

Autism is not. Can you imagine an image of our country representing the number of children suffering from AUTISM right now? The largest epidemic in the history of the world (1 in 50 kids) and we are consumed with 159 cases of measles in the “largest outbreak ever”.

See whats happening is that more and more kids are becoming vaccine injured. So more and more people are waking up to the dangers of injecting children with 49 vaccines before age 5. And the only way to distract us from this is to blame measles “outbreaks” on the 2% of the childhood population that is opting out of shots.

Wake up. Noah and his parents need you to wake up so we can spare an entire generation of children from vaccine injury.

Because that’s really what’s behind these outbreaks and those unruly “people who refuse to vaccinate their children”.

70 published studies showing the link between vaccines & autism. There have only been 14 studies that disprove the link. Those 14 studies have been proven flawed. You can read about those flawed studies (HERE)

*Canary party video that has already gone viral and will soon be presented before Congress. Thank-you Rob Schneider for your voice in this. Watch (HERE)

*Read the stories. I do a series on vaccine injured children (AUTISM). You can read there stories (HERE)

*Read the Simpsonwood transcripts

*Read the vaccine package inserts. Many of them list autism as an adverse reaction.

*Most importantly, THINK for yourselves!

  1. So glad you are helping to get the word out about vaccination dangers. I have taught music in elementary schools for 12 years, and have seen that, unfortunately, it’s not just vaccines that can cause autism-like symptoms. We had a little guy come into my class as a 1st grader, “Toby”, as a pretty normal kid: he liked his first year, and didn’t seem to have any drastic issues with behavior or low-intelligence. The next fall his folks split up, and he began manifesting some mild to moderate behavior problems in class. The solution was to medicate him. The result? The poor kid lost weight, gained weight, starting having huge outbursts and became a physical threat often to both teachers and students. For many months he was nearly unmanageable in the classroom and was nearly expelled. He was diagnosed as both behaviorally disturbed and autistic. It has taken years for them to get him back on track; “Toby” is now a 6th grader in a special-needs class, and although he has come a long way, I feel it is a road he should never have had to travel on. I have had him in classes every year, and I fully believe that his autism/issues came from the cocktail of drugs they gave him over the years trying to “fix” his behavioral problems, (which I think were just the manefestations of a stressed-out kid needing some extra love and boundaries during a tough stage in life). I’d be interested to know if you had ever seen studies done concerning the drugs used to treat behavioral disorders with subsequent autism diagnosis. Thanks again for your well-written, and badly needed article!

  2. This has to be, hands down, the best blog post EVER!! My oldest son just started Kinder and we’ve been bugged over and over again about his vaccines. We either have to have a Doctor sign the form or a Church….it is pathetic that as a parent I am not allowed to make this kind of decision for my children. I am one to believe that vaccines and Autism are related. Besides, why the need to fill children’s tiny bodies with mercury, dead/live viruses, and other chemicals?!

In conclusion: THANK YOU!! You are AWESOME!

    1. Yes, tons. Diet is huge part of the biomedical journey to healing children with autism.
      GAPS, GFCF, SCD,

Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies: http://www.amazon.com/Healing-New-Childhood-Epidemics-Groundbreaking/dp/0345494512

Our Healing Diet (from the following link: http://regardingcaroline.com/scd.html

The SCD has historically been used for ulcerative colitis, IBD, IBS, Crohn’s disease, and celiac disease. These
days it garners a lot of interest and support for healing children from autism, ADHD, allergies, and asthma. In
the autism world, doctors who have patients use this diet report a 100% improvement rate for the child’s
condition. Take that in for a moment. 100%. Where do you ever see that???

A rather austere website has a lot of basic information (http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/) and there is
also a book called “Breaking the Vicious Cycle” by Elaine Gotschall. These are both helpful but IMHO the best
book to read first is written by a neurologist in England who had a son with autism. She has revitalized interest
in this diet with a book called Gut and Psychology Syndrome. Her book can be purchased online
(http://www.shop.gapsdiet.com/product.sc?productId=1&categoryId=7) and is one of the best overviews of
various medical issues and how they can be tied to gut health / gut flora. Medical issues that include ear
infections, allergies, heavy metal poisoning, not to mention autism are covered in the book and can be healed
using this diet. Her book is a lengthy read and she has made some tweaks to the original SCD which I don’t
necessarily agree with 100%, but it is a great place to start. It took me hundreds of internet research hours and
if I had just had this book…

If you don’t want to read a book there is a fabulous 90 minute video of a presentation by Dr. Natasha
Campbell-McBride (http://vimeo.com/10507542) to get you started. This video was the first step toward my
husband not thinking I was on another crackpot “diet can fix everything” crusade. This video + our results with
[our daughter] made a believer out of Andrew. Now we help other children get similar results and we cannot
help but be excited by the sheer hope it can provide a family struggling with medical issues, if the parents are
crazy enough to chain themselves to their kitchen for a minimum of two years. But the hope it can provide is
great and the results come quickly and continue consistently.

There is a certain level of desperation a mother has to have to take this route. BUT it is an effective and
empowering route to take and has gotten me out of countless PT/OT/ST + doctors’ visits because [our daughter]
is falling off the spectrum quickly.

There is also a great website specific to SCD that I relied upon heavily when starting:
http://www.pecanbread.com – this is a website with a heavy focus toward healing a child from autism using SCD.
It has amazing info, particularly the overview page http://www.pecanbread.com/new/aboutscd.html

      1. Autism is a spectrum disorder. There are some children that you wouldn’t even know are on the spectrum. If diet could eradicate autism, don’t you think that all parents with autistic children would do this and autism wouldn’t be the epidemic that it is? That’s wonderful that your daughter was able to get out of “countless” PT/OT/ST appointments. My kids and my friend’s kids haven’t been so fortunate.

      2. Christy, As I said in that comment, I was copying a link from the Regarding Caroline website. I do not have a daughter with autism. If you actually click on the link, you will see that diet was one part of the biomedical journey to healing Carolines autism. Autism is medical. The children who “you wouldn’t even know they are on the spectrum” are not the children with autism that I know. The children with autism that I am speaking of, are the children who have chronic watery diarrhea, are still in diapers at age 6, non-verbal, screaming, stimming, and are medically sick. Those children respond very well to diet.

The parents I know are looking to end this epidemic and “eradicate” autism, by teaching others how to PREVENT it in the first place. The healing is the necessary part of recovery. But awareness and prevention is how we will end this epidemic.

Because the sad truth is, not all children recover and heal.

Again, diet is just one part.

  4. I didn’t get to read all the comments yet, and maybe somebody already mentioned it, but why do parents get handouts, or at least I did, before their child gets vaccinated, where on the back it will list all the possible side effects of being vaccinated, even right after the doctor tells you your child should be vaccinated. It goes from less severe like high fever, to I believe brain damage, to finally death. If vaccines are so safe, why even have a list like this? If this is even mentioned, it is because there is a slight possibility that your child may be affected by the vaccine in some way. My daughter had all her vaccinations and is not autistic but she does have a slight attention deficit, which is affecting her learning. Not enough where she would be on meds but enough to make me wonder. My son had his second vaccination when he was six weeks old and had a pretty high fever which scared us enough to make us do some research. He hasn’t been vaccinated since based on this research.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old and we are a military family as well. So, we tend to relocate every 3 or 4 years. What are my rights as a mother? There is autism in my family. My younger brother had a mild type of Aspergers’ and his daughter was diagnosed with Autism at a very young age (i’m thinking age 3 or 4). Thankfully, her mother recognized the signs early and was able to access some amazing schools and resources. My neice is thriving. She is out of her shell, so amazingly intuitive and brilliant. Can someone please educate me, or point me in the right direction to decipher whether unvaccinated children are disallowed from public schooling in certain states…and if I have legal grounds to fight against such policies? Thank you in advance.

    1. If you are in NJ, early learning requires a full immunization record including the flu vax. If it’s a private institution, they will turn your child away. Our own public school have non vax kids separated as a few classrooms have children going through chemotherapy and their immune systems are compromised.

      1. Correct that a private institution receiving absolutely no federal funding can turn you away (USDA food programs do count as federal funding by the way – I’ve seen some private institutions participate in this program). But that doesn’t mean they will. Even early learning (which we call pre-school in my state) through the school district follows the same state vaccination requirements which allows exemptions. Private pre-schools do not need to follow federal reg’s in this regard. However in my experience I have not come across private entities turning away un-vaccinated. So just be very aware of your state’s requirements and know if applying to a private provider or school you may have to find alternate care or education.

In NJ you are allowed medical or religious exemption. Again, just because they are a private institution does not guarantee 100% that they will turn you away. It is up to them to write their policy.

Particularly the case about the HPV vaccine (an actual case with an actual child!) and the little boy from my hometown who developed autism after a round of vaccines. In the video they have footage of him as a 2yo BEFORE he received the round and, of course, lots of film of him since. Scary stuff! Skeptics should watch this video. I have no idea where she found it but you can probably find it by searching the web. Thanks for a great post.

No matter how scientific the information, anyone who presents information on the dangers of vaccines is absolutely ripped apart. I know of doctors with hesitations like Sherry Tenpenny, Mayer Eisenstein, Diane Harper (Gardasil), and more, but I’m always looking to build my knowledge on doctors who don’t recommend vaccines–and get insight into explaining why most technically “recommend.” (Of course, I do know the basic reasons: money and threat of wrath from the powers that be. And general brainwashing.)

Well, we, a society that has been cheated and tricked by the government in so many things, believe in them when they tell us to put some sort of chemicals (that no one knows for sure what they contain) inside our loved ones. We are being manipulated by them and the media is a great accomplice.

They lie to us about many other things, why wouldn’t they be lying about vaccines too? Why trust eyes-closed the one entity that has lied us the most?

  13. Fabulous post! And if CDC believes in herd immunity at 80%, you will find from their charts indicating the most recent immunization numbers, vaccination rates of the MMR (for 19-35 month olds having had at least one shot) are well into the 90% range in most states. No state is below 84% vaccination rate for this vaccine (again among those having had at least one shot…as the first shot is recommended at 12 months but the second not until around 4 years so wouldn’t be included in these stats). Also interesting to note, as there has been a huge push to get rid of philosophical exemption, is states which have very strict exemption rules (i.e. West Virginia) also have a lower take up rate of the vaccine in this age group. I’m not really seeing any trend in vaccine coverage vs. exemptions allowed per state.

After one year, I am supposed to have all my shots again because the transplant killed all my white blood cells to fight any diseases or infections. It’s been seven months and I am doing great. After reading this article, I am very concern about getting vaccinated in 5 months. Does the same risk apply in adults as in a baby or a toddler?

    1. I’d think since you’re body mass is larger than a small child, you might have a better chance of a vaccine not affecting things. It doesn’t mean vaccines are more safe for an adult per se. Studies have suggested a link between aluminum adjuvents and Alzheimers for example. And even some suggestions vaccines can trigger autoimmune diseases like MS, lupus, RA, etc.. If it were me, I’d get a blood draw to check your titres at that time. Then if they come back low or absent do some research to decide whether vaccination is still right for you. I find a lot of information on Pub Med by doing searches on individual vaccines. Good luck.

And yet hundreds of people are getting roped into getting a vaccine with the highest levels of aluminum out of every vaccine, which is a leading cause of autism, dementia, and other mental & memory disorders later in life. Awesome – let’s sign all our kids up for that. NOT.

I also personally know someone whose brother was given a vaccine (just a regular one we are all required to get) and he immediately became mentally retarded. I know that is rare, but because of this, I can’t believe that vaccines are ever really safe.

  17. What do you say when you take your child to the ER and they ask if immunizations are up to date? I ask because we’ve been in that situation several times, and I hate that question. My daughter fractured her arm- why does the status of immunizations matter? We don’t want to lie, but we don’t want to get into an argument with the doctor when our child needs his attention. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’m fumbling a little bit because I’m not exactly sure what I’m trying to say, but really this article says it all. It should be a mandatory read for everyone!!!!!

  21. Thanks so much for posting this. I am in full agreement. My son does have autism, but he was not vaccinated (nor was I) up to three years prior conception. We had him tested and he is mercury toxic. All we can estimate is that he got that metal load from me… from my many amalgam fillings and past vaccinations. I had all of my amalgams removed by a biological dentist 6 months prior to conception, but was uneducated about proper chelation. Now in retrospect, its all too clear. My boy is doing remarkable, and recovering as a result of biomedical treatments, but it was not because of what any diagnosing MD suggested. Our diagnosing physician told me our son may not ever talk or be able to be a part of society as we know it. He suggested we sign our son up for disability. Our son is slowly losing his autism (he will lost likely lose his diagnosis in this year), and I am beyond thankful that I never listened to that doctor’s suggestions. And those that are naysayers, live in my shoes for a day (on a really bad day) and you will see that its much worse than any media outlet would paint it. I think what upsets me the most is that these doctors can give all the vast number vaccines, and once the damage is done, they typically leave the parents high and dry and tell them that they can’t help any longer. Additionally, those parents have no recourse…no means to legally hold responsible the manufacturers of those vaccines. If the vaccine manufacturers have that much protection, and can’t be held legally responsible, that is bad news for ALL of us…not just those that are vaccine injured.

  22. Absolutely off-the-charts BRILLIANT! Thanks so much for what you are doing. I am thankful everyday that none of my five children received all their vaccinations and have no apparent damage from the few they did receive. However, my heart goes out to all the suffering caused by vaccines and I try and do whatever I can to share this important message. Thanks for making it easier. I will continue to refer people to this blog! Thank you for the clarity and well informed information! I especially appreciated your facts about the flaws of herd immunity. Again, BRILLIANT.

It turned our world upside down and we’ve become the most holistic parents since then. I am also friends with the women of TMR and Dr. Wakefield, and new friends with Dawn of Home Food Heals, who left a comment above.

The story of my child’s injury is here: http://therobynnest.wordpress.com/2012/11/20/this-is-why/ Those were his only vaccines and very quickly resulted in deadly nut allergies. In May of this year he had his first anaphylactic reaction, which I wrote about here: http://therobynnest.wordpress.com/2013/06/01/when-the-worst-happens/

  24. The current national measles “outbreak” amounts to one school in one city in one county in one state, back when I was growing up and everyone got measles.

When children developed red spots, mothers recognized the disease and knew how to treat it — barely skipping a beat in their household routines. Today’s Internet is yesterday’s telephone chain of information.

  25. This is a brilliant article, and I agree completely. I was born in 1944 and was the 2nd oldest of 9 children. There was no measles vaccine at that time, and it was considered normal for children to get measles, mumps, and chicken pox. They would be sick for a short time and then be immune for life. No one worried about it. They were not considered dangerous diseases, and in my lifetime, I have not known personally or heard personally of anyone who died of measles
What we should be concerned about is the autism epidemic–which is being ignored. Michelle Obama is concerned about childhood obesity (and I don’t mean to be critical of her, but there are other issues that are more serious). There is an autism epidemic, and something like one in six children in the U.S. has some type of learning disability. We are seeing children with cancer and diabetes–these diseases were almost unheard of in children in the past. Autism did not exist before vaccines, and as the number of vaccines given to children has gone up, so has the rate of autism.

  27. This is very interesting. What you don’t explain is how an adult can’t get a job in health care with out the shot. They screen you for it if you don’t have it they make you take it or you don’t get the job. Also I found out that if your child is not vaccinated you can’t get them into daycare or school. So A parent better be able to home school.

    1. Regarding school, that is not accurate. You can definitely send your kids to school without being vaccinated, you simply have to sign a waiver. The rules vary from state to state, so depending where you live, the waivers are different, but they ARE available. Some health care jobs accept waivers as well, but not all. That would be on a case by case basis for the employee to research.

  28. Excellent article and I made it through – I glanced at the right-hand scrollbar which was a tiny square and thought oh boy this is gonna take hours! but I see most of the page is full of comments. I would like to comment on vaccines and autism. I had my shots as a child, much like we ALL did, yet we were not bombarded with GMO foods and all the poisons in today’s products (think of fluoridated water, etc.). Now, think of GMO soy formula mixed with fluoridated water given to infants because mothers don’t breastfeed as much any more. In addition, it’s possible that the meat industry was not using all the rGbh, hormones and antibiotics it uses today (and GMO feed), so there are a lot of health factors to consider before shots are even given. it could very well be a combination of things that lead to a weakened system that either can’t handle the shots, which throws them over the edge, or things that work in conjunction with the shots to complete the task of creating the severe health conditions that we see in shocking numbers of children today.

    1. I agree that there are terrible problems with the food, some of which I am just now starting to learn about. However, vaccines are FULL of poison–not just the diseases themselves (and a child may be overloaded with what, 5 in ONE DAY of shots??) but with the other toxins used to culture and preserve these diseases. No one has eaten her 1000th twinkie and died a few hours later, to my knowledge (without other diagnoses, such as cancer). No one has had a few too many Debbie cakes and regressed into severe, violent autism. No one has, on day 400 of a steady diet of hot dogs and potato chips, become paralyzed.

These foods will kill you–eventually. And we need to do something about that. There’s a place for that conversation. I am absolutely not exonerating those in charge and their horrible agendas. However, the problem is that the food often becomes a distraction from the horror that vaccines are–“What about the FOOD?” “Some say it’s vaccines; I don’t know…I think our food…” I get comments like this, and it’s time to give responsibility solidly where it belongs: to drug companies who cause issues that allow NO recovery, almost overnight. Even horrible diets can be recovered from, often, for those willing to do the work.

      1. I’ve never heard that food discussion has distracted anybody from the harms of vaccines. In fact, most people are aware of the much-believed connection between vaccines and autism, but many people do not even know what gmo food is! And yes, people have died from having their 5000th diet soda. It’s called formaldehyde poisoning and it does happen, but that’s not my point. I’m saying the introduction of gmo products might be making things worse.

In the past, everybody used to get their shots but there weren’t that many cases of autism. Now, everybody gets their shots, just like before, and there’s a ton of autism. So, at the risk of stating the obvious, *something* has changed!

Now, maybe it’s just the vaccines themselves. Either they are using higher amount of virus, or mixes of different virii or more or different chemicals or adding more shots to the schedule or something else. I don’t know, but something I do know is that we now have a lot of new dangers in our diet and lifestyles, everything from fluoride in water to teflon on pans to aluminum in everything to gmo products in everything, to BPAs and on and on. We are literally bombarded with tons of toxins every waking moment and we didn’t used to have all these things. Mothers used to nurse their babies. Now we have fluoridated baby water, BPA baby bottles and gmo soy formula that gives infants 20,000 times the estrogen levels they should have, plus more toxins in the pregnant mother’s system etc etc. GMO products cause severe stomach problems, inflammation and allergies, and they are literally in about 80% – 90% of all processed food products in the store these days. That was not the case in decades past. So, with that level of destruction starting at a very young age or even before birth, doesn’t it make sense that this could be a factor? That someone whose immune system and digestive system is already breaking down, who is having allergic reactions and other problems, gets a vaccine and that pushes things over the edge resulting in sudden, permanent damage? I think so. Now, could a perfectly healthy child living on an organic farm breathing the cleanest air and drinking the freshest water also have the same type of reaction to just one shot? I also think that is possible, but those cases would be few and far between. With everybody being overloaded with toxins and genetically mutated food, it is highly likely that they cannot withstand much more until final breakdown, whereas someone without these problems might make it through relatively unharmed.

If you want to take it a step further, let’s look at glucose. We eat it all the time. It doesn’t cause much damage, even in large amounts, to most people. But, if you take someone with an extreme thiamin deficiency, (Vit B1) and then give him a meal with a large amount of glucose in it, what happens? His brain cells burn out like cheap firecrackers and he now has a permanent and irreversible condition called wet brain (beriberi) and needs assisted living for the rest of his life. So, do some things make one more susceptible to having adverse reactions from other things? I think so. And I think that’s even more of a reason not to vaccinate these days and to take a look at all the possible causes and factors that could contribute to autism (and other conditions), so that it can be completely avoided in the future.

  29. I want to prove your theory correct. My now 4 year old son, was born in 09, he was vaccinated for everything they said to vaccinate him with right on schedule. except for the Hep B that they wanted to give him at birth. He ended up getting that at 6 months. Shortly after He received his MMR shot, He came down with a case of the Measels……….I said but WHY is my child getting the Measels if he was vaccinated, this is Why we did get him a vaccine, so he would not get it. And then not to far down the line when he was 2 in 2011 He ended up getting the Chicken Pox………HMM a trend I see…..Get him vaccinated, he gets sick. I don’t like the outcome. So since he got the Chicken pox as a toddler, he now can get the shingles later on in life…..oh joy. Thanks for this blog.

As a first time mom with a baby on the way, this has to be the hardest decision I’ve made so far (or possibly ever will). I’m so afraid of the “guilt” that would come IF my child got seriously ill from a disease that I could have “prevented”. I needed this blog. Like NEEDED it, lol. 33. Thank you for all of this wonderful information!

I don’t understand why the “70 studies” are not accepted by the mainstream medical community as support of a vaccine-autism link? I just read a popular book on parenting toddlers, co-authored by a mom and a pediatrician. In the health/vaccine portion of the book, their big motto was “show me the science”, as in, “show me the science that vaccines do more harm than good, otherwise go get your kid all their shots and don’t be an idiot”. Well aren’t these studies “science”? What is it about them that allows them to be ignored? Are they not adequately peer reviewed? Are they not including large enough populations? Are they being conducted by organizations that are not respected by mainstream medical community? Is it really as simple as “these studies support a link, therefore we deliberately ignore them no matter how good the science”? I guess it’s hard to believe that most doctors are that brain-washed so that they can’t even see the other side. Maybe most of the mainstream medical community is not aware of these types of studies, I don’t know.

  34. My son has autism and I can tell you 100% that it was NOT caused by vaccines. There was no regression, rather a slowing of progression, and it was not at 18 months when he got his MMR, it was later.
Has anyone done any research that you know of (because this is just my thinking) that maybe autism is not CAUSED by vaccines but that vaccines set it off, irritate it into the open? Maybe the child has autism already but that vaccines make it apparent? Sometimes something is benign in our bodies until something gives it a kick in the pants to rupture and spread. Doesn’t that sometimes happen with cancers or even HIV/AIDS?
Because how do you account for children like mine with autism? Since that original study about vaccines and autism was debunked (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/07/130716-autism-vaccines-mccarthy-view-medicine-science/) I wonder what life would be like if it’d never been written? Why do we have to blame anyone for autism other than just another consequence of this fallen world?
I believe that my son was born with autism and that it is part of who he is. Who would my child be otherwise? Not the son I know.

    1. Most of your comment did not pass approval, but since you shared how your heart has been broken over and over again from sick children, I felt like we share something in common. My heart too is broken over and over again, every single time I hear a story of vaccine injury. My good friend and editor for Age of Autism writes: ”I didn’t ask for this fight. None of us did. We followed the rules. Did what we were told. Didn’t question authority. Trusted the “experts”. Showed up on time. Held them down. Over and over and over. Gave the antibiotics. Ignored our guts. Loaded them up on Tylenol. And chalked it all up to coincidence. We didn’t do anything to deserve this. Most certainly our children didn’t either. But I’ll be damned…I’ll be DAMNED…if I allow my daughter’s life and those of her generation like her…to be discounted, chalked up to the “greater good”, and poisoned at the hand of those she trusted without someone, someday being held responsible for what they did. I can forgive. I cannot, and will not, ever forget. And I cannot and will not ever give up.”

So I keep fighting for truth. Their children’s lives matter. ALL children’s lives matter.

Children sick and dying from vaccines is just as devastating as a child with leukemia contracting the flu and dying.

One of my favorite quotes says:
“A false polarity is perpetuated that positions deaths and injuries from disease as somehow more tragic than deaths and injuries from vaccines. These are equal tragedies. No child deserves to be written off as collateral damage in the war on disease.”

I hope one day you can see the whole picture, not just the one you were taught.

      1. Hi there, I wish posts like these could be continued, as in, the person replies to your retort. I think this blog is very informative. And you seem to know that many people are undecided on the issue, like myself. I would like to see more discussion and replies to the comments here, I think it would really make for a great place to get the whole picture.

I’ve added a lot of comments as I go through this site, and I intend to go through all of it reading all your posts and all the comments. I’m already gaining loads of new research points from here and loads of clarification on questions I have had.

So I really hope that Laura Brown can give a reply to this and thus create a sensible and in depth discussion. It’s not like we can get this from our doctors or even from any book, as every single book is coming from an author with an already established point of view. That is what I want to create from my research; something which gives an unbiased assessment of the facts.

Where I am now is that I have up until the time I have a child (planned in a year or two) to make my decision. But I’m so torn between:

        a) My instinct which says let an immune system grow naturally.
        b) The problems that not vaccinating causes in the form of hatred, abuse, accusation, and limitations it might place on my children career-wise.

I want to be convinced either way by the end of my journey, but I sway between a default position of:

        a) Wanting to just vaccinate because I have seen a lot of children have the vaccinations and be absolutely fine. (I work in a hospital and have seen literally thousands as I write the letters on children who are said to have has all their vacs. I have seen no ill-effects per se, but I DO see a lot of children diagnosed with autism and allergies) I also know that it could really limit their job prospects – I’m being probed in my NHS job and I’m only in a secretarial role, but I have been asked about what vaccines I’ve had as a child and an adult. They haven’t asked me to have any, and have only offered the flu jab, but if my children wanted to be say, nurses or doctors or healthcare workers, I’m sure they would be pressured to have the vacs they didn’t have as children. Anecdotally, I know a lot of people, I meet a lot of people, and I’ve never personally met anyone vaccine-injured.
        b) Wanting to go with my instinct if I don’t get a final answer and just build them up naturally.

I think it would be constructive if you could add more to what Laura Brown actually said, unless it is what I imagine; she’s seen children with chronic illnesses who can’t get vaccinated die from the common cold or flu. I believe you have already answered this in that you too have seen children harmed, from vaccines.

      2. Your comment about career prospects being limited struck me. My daughter is 15 and had her vaccinations up till the 15 mth set and those were the last we did. It was the MMR and we noticed changes that day in her and never had any other shots. She is our healthiest child.
She wants a career in the medical field. Not sure yet what she wants to do but something in the lab, research, nurse practitioner or doctor are ideas she has considered.
Do they ask what shots you had or do they require proof that you had them? Do they have any kind of religious exemptions? What vaccines are actually required? Locally, the public schools require certain vaccines but they are not ALL the vaccines that are offered. I think it is DPT, MMR, polio ..and maybe chicken pox. For medical careers which vaccines do they require?
Feeling sad and defeated that the world can dictate what poisons and chemicals can go into our children and we have no choice. 😦

      3. Hi Reba,

Are you in the states? I’m sure that they will want her to have all those vacs she has missed for her to be able to work in the field. Funnily enough yesterday my work’s occupational health got onto me about “reviewing my immunisation status” – they want proof I have hall my vacs in childhood, and if I can’t give it (which I can’t because my surgery doesn’t have the records!) they want to take a blood test to “prove my immunity” to certain diseases such as measles and chicken pox. I have had measles and told them this, but they said that does not prove my immunity. I was shocked. I think they are concerned about my BCG, which we have here in the UK at around age 14, and my MMR, which I don’t think I ever had as a child.

They said they may want to give me the MMR, I told them categorically I was having no further vaccinations. I have not been ill in four years. No way am I compromising my natural immune system with an injection. I might lose my job (as a medical secretary of all things!) because of this, but if so, then so be it, I have no idea what harm that shot could cause me and they are mad if they think I am taking it.

But I think keeping your children from vaccinations will harm their career, and it is for this reason I’m thinking I might just go ahead with them if/when I become a mother.

Indeed, I agree, it is not fair that we are medicated by order, this includes fluoride in our drinking water.

I think with the states there are state laws which dictate this, I think it would depend on the state. But I know that in the UK they do require people who work directly with patients to have been fully “immunised” – and now even people like me who work in front a computer and not even with patients! It’s not on as far as I’m concerned, but in some ways, we have to play the game by their rules, that is what living in a semi-dictatorship is about, which in my opinion we are heading towards swiftly.

Here is my question: While I do believe there are links between cases of autism and vaccines, I know that my son did not receiv his that way. What, in your medical opinion, are other causes of autism?

    1. There are many “causes” of autism. Or just one, in two parts: mineral deficiency and poisoning. They work together. I have an unvaccinated child who had autism and recovered. The recovery process was very simple because it was not vaccine-induced. Easier than the stories I read from those with vaccine-injured children. He is now an amazingly normal and functional and non-affected twelve year old.
